Anxiety toward Later Life and Aging Society -Focused on the Association between Knowledge and Attitudes and Anxiety

Abstract
The purpose of the presented study was to investigate the association 1) between knowledge on and attitudes and anxiety toward later life, 2) between knowledge on and attitudes toward aging society and anxiety toward aging society. Data of 1500 aged over 20 drawn by allocated quota sampling were analyzed through Anova and Multiple regression. The level of anxiety of later life was highest among those who had lower knowledge and negative attitudes toward the aged. The level of anxiety of ageing society was highest among those who showed higher level of knowledge and negative attitudes toward aging society. Both knowledge on and attitudes toward later life and aging society were significantly associated with anxiety of later life and aging society.
